Jo Ann Vance

Jo Ann, born Jo Ann Wimmes, is a native of Greenwood, South Carolina. After marrying Tommy Vance, they made San Diego home with their two children and 16 years of Foster Care. She is a retired teacher from San Diego Unified School District. She has taught Sunday School during her 40+ years of worshipping at Bethel AME, the oldest black church in San Diego. In addition to serving her church as a steward Jo Ann is Sunday School Superintendent. Finally, she serves on the boards of Broadway Heights Community Council; Community Investment Fund; and Ella C Savage Foundation .
