A native of Memphis, Tennessee came to San Diego with her husband who was a United States Marine. Charlotte graduated from Douglass High School and Henderson Business College in Memphis, Tennessee, graduated from Grossmont College in California with an Associated Arts Degree; she attended San Diego State University and earned a Bachelor Science in Business Administration emphasis in Management. Cherolyn Robertson-Jackson

Cherolyn is a native of San Diego, California. She is one of 418 community investors that invested in Market Creek Plaza through the Diamond Community Investor (DCI).
Cherolyn is one of the original members of the Community Investment Fund (CIF) Guide Team, that was established in 2008, which is now the Executive Board.
Cherolyn has worked more than 25 years in the health and human services fields, focusing on underserved communities. She has a bachelor’s in Business Management, a master’s in Organizational Management and is a Certified Community Economic Development Practitioner. Read More
Jo Ann Vance

Jo Ann, born Jo Ann Wimmes, is a native of Greenwood, South Carolina. After marrying Tommy Vance, they made San Diego home with their two children and 16 years of Foster Care. She is a retired teacher from San Diego Unified School District. She has taught Sunday School during her 40+ years of worshipping at Bethel AME, the oldest black church in San Diego. In addition to serving her church as a steward Jo Ann is Sunday School Superintendent. Thomas Vance
Executive Board Member / Treasurer
A native of Augusta, Georgia, Thomas’ family left his birth place and he would start school in Miami, Florida. After a few years in the sunshine state, he visited family in South Carolina for the summer. He later returned to live with his aunt and uncle, graduating, Bell Street High School and later graduating South Carolina State College as President of The Student Government Association with a BS in Professional Drama. I’ve lived in the Diamond Community (DC) for over six decades. I am a volunteer for the Community Investment Fund San Diego LLC (CIF), headquartered in the DC.
My involvement in the DC includes a founding family member of the Bayview Baptist Church; board member of the Community Outreach Foundation, Christian Fellowship UCC; treasurer of the Diamond Community Investors Advisory Council (DCIAC); and current board member of the CIF. Read More
Zoniece Z. Jones

As a child, Zoneice Jones always dreamed of becoming a schoolteacher. During playtime, her siblings and friends would “pretend” to be students in a classroom while Zoneice “pretended” to be the teacher. Having a father who was a principal and a mother a teacher who believed all students could succeed even in a segregated environment in Mississippi, bolstered her love and commitment to teaching. After graduating from high school, she attended Lane College, a small Methodist college, and received her BA in English with an emphasis in secondary education. Read More
